A concert and conversation featuring Israeli and Palestinian Musicians

HEARTBEAT unites Israeli and Palestinian youth musicians to develop critical awareness, harness music’s transformative power and become leading voices for change.

Heartbeat rises up in the face of adversity through their courageous music and co-creation to bring a change to the world around them. The Israeli and Palestinian youth musicians of Heartbeat are challenging the status quo of violence, fear, and inequality with their powerful sounds that call for dignity and freedom for all. Elevated by the support from Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam and Neil Young, Heartbeat is quickly gaining international recognition and momentum as they work to build a lasting just peace in the Middle East from the ground up. A deeply passionate and insightful ensemble of Heartbeat’s most experienced musicians will tour the United States in the Fall of 2016, sharing their music and messages with audiences throughout the continent.

Through their powerful live performances, Heartbeat musicians reveal the struggle of life amid conflict, while illuminating the hope and strength that emanates from their collective experience of co-creating and fostering critical understanding together. Their energy is exhilarating, drawing the listener in through a dynamic blend of Eastern and Western Arabic music, Western rock, hip hop, jazz and reggae. The ensemble of accomplished Arab and Jewish, Israeli and Palestinian youth artists (ages 18-25) has toured across Israel, Palestine, Germany and the US including performances and briefings at the US Congress, State Department, and some of the world’s most celebrated universities and music venues.

At each event in the 2016 tour program, Heartbeat musicians will also share their experiences of growing up amidst the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, highlighting their creative effort to build a better future as members of Heartbeat. Each concert offers a unique window into the lives of these courageous young artists and will forge lasting connections between communities across The United States and the Middle East.

All proceeds benefit Heartbeat's scholarship based integrated music and dialogue programs for Israeli and Palestinian Youth.
